• Frequently Asked Questions
  • 1) How exactly does the membership work?

Anyone can join Road Trip. Once you are a member you are able to call us from any venue/private function during our operating hours. We dispatch two drivers to collect you in one vehicle. One of the drivers drives you and your vehicle home while the other vehicle follows.

    2) How am I charged for the service?

Depending on which package you sign up for determines the cost of a lift. If you sign up on "The Mover", you pay membership fees R79.00 per month and each time you call you will be charged R9.69/km from the time we collect you to the time we drop you off. If you sign up on the "Tripper 20", you pay R232.00 per month. This allows you 20km's of usage each month. i.e. if you do two trips of 10km's each (Total 20km's) then you will only pay the membership fee of R212.00. As soon as you go over 20km's in a given month, you start paying R11.60/km. On the Traveler 40 you receive 40km's each month, Roadie 70 = 70km's per month and The Long Hauler = 99km's per month

    3) What exactly does Minimum call out mean?

We have a minimum call out of 15km's on each package except for The Tripper 20 which is 5km's. We calculate the km's from the collection point to drop off point. E.g. If you are driven 10km's you will be charged for 15km except Tripper 20 where you will be charged 10km's).

    4) Do my free km’s carry over each month?

Unfortunately not, your account is loaded at the beginning of each month with the free km’s relative to your package.

    5) What happens if our drivers have an accident in your vehicle

As per service agreement: The Client warrants that it has adequate insurance cover in place in respect of the Client’s vehicle and the uses thereof by third party drivers so as to include the Service Provider’s drivers.

    6) How do we get billed?

All accounts run from the 25th till 25th of each month. Meaning that your free km’s (if applicable) are reset on the 26th. You will receive an invoice on the 28th and finally a debit will run on your account on the 1st.
